Hello.
Well a couple of months ago I had a problem with my PC shutting down on my old case. I consulted on the forum for help for changing my case to a gaming case. Today I changed to a gaming case and I experience the exact same problem!
The PC instantly would shut down. Temperature rises very high.
I have problems with both Crysis Warhead and Crysis Wars multiplayer online. The game works perfectly on 1920x1200 resolution without lag on enthusiastic. All my games work perfectly well and flawlessly without a single bit of lag.
But my PC shuts down instantly after only like 3 to 5 minutes of play.
And despite changing my case to a gaming case I still have the same problem. Temperature rising very high to 75 degrees celciuson about 10 minutes of play.
I use the Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4890 OC Edition and Quad-Core Q6600 processor.
Despite setting the fan to 50 percentit still shutted down.
And I even played the game on opened case and the PC would shut down again, temperature jumps high up to 82 degrees celcius. http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/8610/65374426.jpg
I use a TRUST 570 Watt Pro Power supply http://www.trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=15317
And I also use a Samsung T240 24 inch LCD monitor.
Now I don't know why I have problems with my PC shutting down. I play Call of Duty 4 as well as FIFA 09, PES 2009 and I have no problems there. But I seem to have this problem with Crysis Warhead/Wars, Frontlines Fuel of War, Far Cry 2 and James Bond 007 Quantum of Solace. But before I only had a 19 inch monitor and I only had problems with Crysis. But since getting a new 24 inch Samsung monitor and play it on 1920x1200 resolution I get this problem.
I even decreased the resolution of Crysis Wars for online on 1024x768 and it still shuts down after a few minutes of play! And it happened twice today and in the past with the map called Armada. Infact with the Armada map it shuts down in less than 3 minutes.
What's the reason, and whats the solution to fixing this problem?
Thanks.

yeah looks as though the video card might be the problem here. Also its not the fact that you need a gaming case, its because you need excellent air circulation to keep your components cool. I recommend having a 120mm fan at the front and another at the back of the case. You should also see about getting a different power supply for yourself because its the fact that it doesn't give the rail amperage that scares me and should scare you as well. The wattage is fine however I suggest a good, reliable, name brand power supply from antec, OCZ, Corsair, Cooler Master etc. the power supply also might be causing the problem.Hmm, Infact I do have a 120 mm cooling fan to thesideof the case pointing towards the GPUand one large one to the front.
Now I don't know whether powersupply may be the reason. But a friend of mine had the exact same problem with Crysis/Warhead and he has2x 8800GT inSLI mode and he used a 600 Watt PSU which caused problems with his PC shutting down. But when he bought a 1000W PSU then the problem went away.
I don't know whether this applies to me too. But I have a large 24 inch Samsung monitor, im not sure how much PSU Watt power it requires. But it is possible that both the 570 Watt PSU I've got cannot cope with both my Sapphire 4890 and 24 inch HD monitor, which is why its shutting down. But who knows?:?
I used to use the same powersupply with my old Nvidia GeForce 8600GT and I did not have such problem.
I could buy a PSU but where is the guarantee that this will solve the problem? Do I need a higher PSU, something higher than 570 Watts?:?
Well you are going to need to get a different power supply either way. I've already had a no-name power supply kill my components before so I'd suggest you get another one before it happens to you. You don't really need a higher wattage PSU however, it doesn't hurt. here I have a suggestion http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341017 go with this one cause it is name brand, highly efficient, and also modular which will make the air move better inside your case.
