My PC's too fast!

I'd like to re-play some of my older games (not the least Zork Nemesis and Azrael's Tear), most of them not relying on a 3D card. To do so I need to slow down the CPU. Is there any software that can do that?

You don't want to do that. You might need to use Dosbox.

There are games that don't run under DOS (and thus, also not in DOSBox) that have that issue where the game may work in XP but plays at lightning speed. If that's the problem you're having, download WinThrottle, it works quite nicely for slowing your processor. I use it for Descent 2, works superbly. It can on occasion still not slow things down enough for some older games that don't work in DOSBox, in which case the creator of WinThrottle recommends some additional things you can do on his website.

I should play sim city 2000 again, I remember that on DOS, I had to put to code into DOS to start the game.

I'm 100% certain there are softwares to slow down your cpu, I just can't remember the name of any of them, try google

I wish I could play KKND again, one of my favorite old pc games. The death animations and death noises where hilarious.

Slwoing down the CPU? I never heard of something like that. Just get the Dosbox. You dont' want to mess with the CPU.

I have a similar issue with Valve games on my newer hardware. Whenever I play HL2 related games or Portal, my audio can't keep in synch with my video, because my video is too fast, often causing the sound to skip. To fix, I need to enter a console command to maximize the framerate. Something like "fps_max 100". Maybe your game supports a similar command.
