OCZ psu :|MonsieurXWhats wrong with ocz? I had the same exact psu and had zero issues. It powered my cheaper build and only cost me $40.

it was mainly about fitting into my case but it had good reviews from everything i could find on google. ill let u know how things go in a couple years.

yeah. you know how you have to put the PSU inside the case? I wanted to buy one that would actually fit in there.

What case do you have? :|http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c03005744&prodSeriesId=5146449
I bought a 600w Thermaltake PSU for $60 and have no issues. Â I feel if you're willing to spend $60 you can get a good, quality psu. Â Of course there's situations where you need something beefier (if you're running two video cards, i7, lots of sata slots used up, fans, etc) but for most rigs that will be perfect. Â

Cheap does not equal bad all the time, but cheap can mean "it will take the rest of your rig" with it if it blows. OCZ isn't tier 1. The Modxstream is Tier 3. It can't be stressed enough that the PSU - power supply unit is the most overlooked component and people tend to skimp out on these. Right next to that, motherboards. If you get some fireworks, don't be surprised although that will be unlikely. You just won't have the longevity of Tier 1 PSUs.
OCZ you just need to research each specific model. Â I have the OCZ modxstream 600w and it's been running fine for going on 4 years

That's why I said it was tier 3.. Moxstream 600w is Tier 3 dude. Â Why not buy Tier 1 PSUs like Corsair, Antec, Seasonic? It's not like the prices are much different. They're very affordable. Just because one person might have gotten lucky, I wouldn't go recommending to everyone.[QUOTE="lostrib"]

Just because one person might have gotten lucky, I wouldn't go recommending to everyone.I bought it when I first made my computer in college so it was a budget build. Â And I think it was $50-60 versus 100-120, with good reviews and semi modular. Â And it's served me well, I will probably change it out when I upgrade my case later this year/next year. Â Also where are these tiers from?
my issue has been size but i have since bought this and returned the ocz for a PSU that can support xfiring one day since I just bought a 7870 as well. Possibly this one
