But its really slow...
It keeps going from 0 kbps to 190 kbps (extremely slow for my connection and average d/l speed).

i care to hear there's a demo, but the game comes out tmrw.
It's out Tuesday.
Kinda weird how you are excited for that and some 360 owners have already beat the game.
I'm not saying you shouldn't be excited, not trying to flame or anything. I'm not one of those who beat the game. Most I'd go for is a rent, to be honest.

No. I've been looking forward to this game since it was first announced, and SS2 was one of my favorite games. Go troll somewhere else.

Lets hope it gets released on the torrent network so we can all enjoy it.danielsmith2020
Won't help much, the entire thing is encrypted, they won't be sending out the key to unlock it until tommorow

Not really all that much different from what steam does when it allows you to pre-load an entire game before release. They are doing this largely to avoid a run on the servers like the one that crashed Xbox Live when the bioshock demo came out on it.

I understand that but why would they go through all that trouble to encrypt and then send a key out the next day for a demo.....mind you we're not talking about a full game....I mean come on.
Cultofrapture.com says the download is a pre-load. So we may not (and probably won't be able to) get to play the demo until tomorrow.cametallThe unlock is at 7pm, so that makes sense. Hell, if my GS is having a midnight release, I'll play the demo, then drive over to GS and get the game

Thats so **** stupid, my patience for the devs is at 0 now. Since they want to treat pc gamers so crappy this time around, they definitely won't be getting a penny from me.

Because bioshock is extremely popular, if it can take out the Xbox Live servers, just think of the havoc it would cause with fileplanet's. Many a file planet demo release was botched because several million people tryed to download a multigigabyte file all at once, this way they can lessen or even avoid the consequences of server problems. It's cheaper overall to have a single computer encrypt a file and let people download at their leasure before release, then the potential loss of customers because of a server crash.

I believe making the demo playable the night before release is a marketing tactic, they're not purposely treating us PC gamers bad. If they really didn't care about us, we wouldn't have a demo in the first place. Here is the public link. No need to pay Fileplanet crummy money to pre load demo. Should be free, bastards.

If you paid fileplanet crummy money, you probably could have downloaded it in 40 minutes instead of 4 hour, not that it matter, still can't play it until they said you can

So when you install, does it tell you you have to wait?Must be nice having that demo, just sitting there and you being unable to play it.Citan76Your avatar complemented your comment perfectly:lol:

So when you install, does it tell you you have to wait?It doesn't install at all, it automatically uncompresses the file, which individual files are encrypted and DLM says 'File Downloaded. Waiting for Key to unlock.' It also say that the Est. date available is Mon, Aug. 20, 2007, and DLM checks every two hours to see if the key is available. Essentially it's just like having the game demo reserved, but that you actually have the thing on your computer
