first of all, im playing on a laptop, but these specs seem pretty good. having said that, im getting huge slowdowns in MANY games including RCT3, Star Wars Empire at war, and the Sims 2 on LOW settings. Please tell me what i need to improve

  • 1GB of RAM
  • Intel Centrio Duo Processor 1.66GHz
  • Intel GMA 950 224mb

Low Settings, yes. What about your Resolution? Also clear your background processes, as RTS games need the CPU to process AI

yes your video card is not so great. intel is not known for there great gaming cards. i would wait for the ati r600 then upgrade to it. cus it can use dx 10 . i would also get vista witch runs games better then xp or earlyer os

Its probably your gpu. and sims 2 shouldn't lag too much even on that gpu, I would try sticking in another gig of ram in there is possible. get ccleaner at www.ccleaner.com

you might have over heating problem. or you might have a buged up computer or maybe just ur hard ware is not working right.

Not really. Sure you can stick another gig of ram in, but you might have to wait until ASUS releases the XG station to turn your Lappie into a semi-gaming machine.
