This is more of a casual gamer's list. Nothing wrong with casual except not a lot of people will agree with you.
For instance, The Sims 2 outclasses all of those games. Because World of Warcraft isn't a game. It's a job.
pretty terrible listgreatmax1
Some people like eating broccoli cheese soup which I hate. However, I don't feel the need to raz them because they happen to like it.
I like the list - it generally has a theme to it and it is off the beat path far enough not to look like some type of top-10 of all time gaming list.
Here is mine.... If you ask me to write it down a month from now, it will probably looks a little different. I also tend to lump worthy portions of series....
10. Pirates - both of them
9. Civilization - the series, but I played 2 the most
8. World of Warcraft (if you think it sucks, take it up with a shrink, not me, ok)
7.Betrayal atKrondor - Return to Krondor
6. Wing Commander 2+
5. Ultima 5-6-7 (it all blurs together now anyhow)
4. Fallout (this is 1, 2, and especially 3)
3. Dragon Age Origins
2. Aces of thePacific / Red Baron (both by Dynamix - different games, but close enough to being the same for me)
1. Masters of Orion 2
Yeah, a lot of my stuff is kinda dated :)

Seems more like a console games list for the general console gamer TBH. Nothing wrong with that of course. :P
I respect everyone's opinions, but I have to say, if that is your top 10 then you must not have played too many games.millerlight89
Yea, you have Oblivion up there, but no Morrowind?

Didn't see your post earlier, but actually, I never had enough money to buy Morrowind, and every time I did every place around me was out of stock :([QUOTE="morrowindnic"][QUOTE="millerlight89"]I respect everyone's opinions, but I have to say, if that is your top 10 then you must not have played too many games.hadesminion113

It's a lot better then Oblivion. If you are worried about graphics there are mods that improve them. And hits are like a roll of a dice, they don't always actually hit. But its great.
Also if you read the 1 star reviews, they are pretty retard and really hilarious. " Requires you to use both your hands, for the mous and keyboard." This is a pc game is it not? How many games can you really play with one hand? "There is no compass" I mean damn, some people are just idiots.

This thread is a clear testement to why one should never publicise their favourite things. You can't please everybody, even if you're able and in cyberspace no one sees you gouge away. 8)nightharvestIndeed. I doubt you'll find two people in here with the same top 10 list.
A lot of people will agree with his list, just not many on Gamespot. There are more ''casuals'' in the world than there are ''hardcore'' gamers. Modern Warfare 2 isn't very liked on internet forums but that doesn't change the fact that millions of people play it daily and love every minute. I, on the other hand, love Planescape: Torment but outside gaming communities, I can't expect to find many fellow fans. You have to remember that only 200,000 units of the game were ever sold. It's a niche market, just like only a few people outside movie enthusiasts would rank Citizen Kane as one of the best movies of all time. This is more of a casual gamer's list. Nothing wrong with casual except not a lot of people will agree with you.

PC has so many titles that it's almost impossible for two people to share the same opinion on their Top10 games. My favorite 10 games for PC: (it's impossible to make a list without at least 100 games. It's unfair, but I'll try...)
10. Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars
9. Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven
8. Doom II: Hell on Earth
7. System Shock 2
6. Deus Ex
5. Thief II: The Metal Age
4. Fallout 2
3. Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
2. Planescape: Torment
1. Ultima VII: The Black Gate
I respect everyone's opinions, but I have to say, if that is your top 10 then you must not have played too many games.millerlight89Same opinion as mine
I stopped reading at WoW. It's amazing what kind of garbage passes for "fun" these days.
These are in no particular order, just a general top 10
10 - Ultima Online
The only "real" online ROLEPLAYING game ever made. Too bad it was completely screwed up after OSI was purchased.
9 - Morrowind
So much better than this Oblivion trash
8 - Fallout 1 and 2
Fallout 3 just felt generic to me. I could never quite put my finger on it, but it just felt as if something was missing from the game. I know, maybe it was the macabre and twisted humor from the first two?
7 - Doom
The original deathmatch. I managed to bypass whatever pathetic security my high school had on its network. Our biweekly "keyboarding class" turned into biweekly massive deathmatch sessions until someone got busted and ruined it for us all. What made it funny was that they asked me to help them find out who did it, so naturally I "found" evidence to lead them far, far away from me.
6 - EverQuest
I listed this not necessarily because it was, "good", but because I have a lot of memories from playing this with my friends. After UO was fubared, we made the switch to EQ when it first came out. My friend and I spent a month getting to level 20. Once we dinged and our damage caps were removed, we lost interest and didn't touch it again, until the release of Shadows of Luclin. However, we formed our own guild, composed of just the three of us, called the, "Brood of Xuxekak". We all played Iksar named some variation of Xuxekak. (ie, Xuzekak, Xuxekok, etc). We passed the grinding boredom by being complete antisocial *******. We got really good at it. We could be passing through a zone on our way to town and, before hitting the zone line, could have the entire zone arguing over something in /OOC. We also pioneered, "Fish Quiz", a game where we would ask quiz questions to people waiting on the boats and give away the fish we caught as a prize. I think we also invented drunken Kurn's Tower diving.
We played off and on for a few months then finally gave it up for good in 2001. Never played another MMORPG since.
5 - Baldur's Gate
Enough said. Dragon Age is pretty good, but still missing the humor from BG.
4 - Battlefield 2
The best of the series, so far. Bad Company 2 *might* change that.
3 - Aliens vs Predator 2
The current AvP isn't bad, but AvP2 was a hell of a multiplayer experience.
2 - Operation Flashpoint
The original was a great multiplayer experience. The bugs made it even more fun. Great memories at the old DLPs we used to have (Drunken Lan Parties, in late high school and early college. We gutted an old Cyrix desktop I had and used the case as a cooler to hide our booze). The unpatched version was horrible and buggy, but made for some hilarious MP experiences. 3 of us got into a civilian car and were driving along, we hit a small bump and -- somehow -- the entire car was launched hundreds of feet into the air like a rocket. My two friends bailed out and fell to their deaths; I stayed in the car, which fell back to earth, rolled about 4 times and landed upright. I then drove away unscatched, running over their corpses on the way.
1 - Civilization IV
Need I say anything?
4 - Battlefield 2
The best of the series, so far. Bad Company 2 *might* change that.

Yeah, I suspect this game will get into my top 10 as well. I am really pumped up for it.
I was in UO beta... I remember getting the packages of diskettes in the mail. I also remember how completely unplayable it was (omg they defined lag) at peak hours. I was done with that after 3 weeks or so, largely because it was saddening to compare the tenants that the Ultima series had espoused to the game play that most players were involved in. Anyhow, UO is on my biggest disappointments list, so we have a completely different view about it and WoW.

I have really enjoyed the BC2 beta. Games usually don't stay on my hard drive for very long (I deleted Bioshock 2 after about 3 days. How did THAT get such good reviews?) but BC2 has stayed on there since I downloaded it.
UO did have a ton of problems at release, particularly with lag. Eventually, they fixed most of it and, underneath, it was really enjoyable. I really like the skill-based open-ended form of UO. Then along came EQ. MMOs really haven't changed the formula since, and I find them really boring. ALL of them are nothing more than a pointless grind and questing is nothing more than throwing a veil over the grind underneath.
1. socom 2
