My WOW account got hacked.

My wow account got hacked today has it really gotten that bad with Blizzard? I dont fall for stupid whispers, i dont buy gold, didn't use any addons, ignored scam emails and changed my password a week ago. And they still got me after 4+ years of playing WOW. Worst part is i had cancelled my subcription which was due to end tomorrow....

send an email to blizzard. also run a full malware scan as you probably have a keylogger.

Actually it got better, if you have a authenticator anyways. Anyways change all your passwords and scan your computer.

Send them an Email. Their support address is on their support website. They get back to you really quickly.

My WOW account got hacked after not playing for two years. I had friends calling me asking if i resubscribed to WOW because they saw my toon online. Call support...it will take a while, but they will give you your account right back with no issues. I just wanted the guy off my account LOL.

Ya, probably a keylogger. It happened to my roommate about a month ago and he uses antivirus and everything. The funny thing is his case was that I spotted the hacker online and just logged into his battle.net account website and changed the password right there. The hacker had not even bothered to change the password or vendor his gear. We never had to involve blizzard and he profitted about 5000 gold in farmed materials that were sitting on the character once I kicked him off by changing that password.

I would suggest that you download another utility such as SpyBot to do a complete scan of your computer. Its probably still on there if you haven't got rid of it yet.

Getting your account back is easier than ever now, stop whining. The fact that you have internet is proof enough that info about you is out in the world and for most hackers thats enough. You dont need to fall for a phishing email about WoW to be hacked. You could have accidently clicked on a pop up instead of closing it a few years back and got something.

Use Malewarebytes its free and will show you if you have a keylogger running.

get an authenticator but the best way to never get hacked is to quit the game. It isnt a game worth paying 15$ a month for quit now its a sign.

It happened to me after 4 years too a while back. My advice is to format your PC. There is most likely a keylogger or something malicious hiding on your PC. Reinstalling Win7 is a breeze and you dont need to worry about what could be lurking. I contacted their support and got my password changed. After that I had to contact in game GM's to restore all my gold and items. It was all done within 24hrs.

Also, buy an authenticator or use their iphone version.

I was playing WoW for a while a few months ago. I decided I had enough and quit. That SAME day I got an email from Blizzard saying I was banned for gold selling. Apparently, my account got hacked and I didn't know. But some hacker was playing one of my alts on a different server, anyway my account has a permanent ban on it. Apparently I wasn't convincing enough that I had in fact not played that particular character in years.
