I started this game on Gametap about a month ago and was totally unimpressed...Turns out i jumped to conclusions too fast...After finding a guild that knows their way around I have found that the depth is way deeper than i first thought it was..so much to do alone and as a group...I've always sucked at Myst but this little gem will have monthly updates and mini neighborhoods added on a regular basis..just glad I didn't give up...Will this appeal to those that think WOW is the graetest thing out there..nope....but for those who want to be constantly challenged it's almost perfect...
Have the controls been updated at all? Because I despised them in URU. Also, is this a totaly new game, or is this the same thing as the old URU we all played and wished was a real Myst title like 5 years ago?
Hi I never played the original..but what I've been told it's URU but with added content..there are mouse and arrow keys...I use the arrow keys.. the mouse is a pain...
ps..there are a lot of co operative puzzles that have been added that you can't do alone...plus you get your own bevin..
I recently started a Gametap trial and tried this game out. I really was totally lost. Now I've played some of the Myst games in the past and am no stranger to Adventure games, but this game had little to no direction for me. Hopefully I'll run into some other players sometime so I can get a clue as to what I should be doing. BTW, Gametap has a free 7 day trial. It's easy to signup so you should check it out if you want a taste of URU online or many other games. The URU online is limited when you are not a subscriber though.
I loved the Myst series of games and the adventure genre is most certinaly my favorite, but I really can't see myself getting into this online version of Myst for some reason. The concept just doesn't seem to work for me. I mean, don't get me wrong, I havn't played the game for me to base any opinions on it but usually something has to seem interesting from the offset to hook me, and unfortunatley this game just doesn't present anything. Maybe I'm being a tad critical, even presumptuous, but I really can't see myself getting into Myst: Online. Someone is going to have to come up with something pretty fine to persuade me on this one.
