My first exposure to video games was back in the early 90s (PC), the operating system was MS-DOS and my first game was Blood.

My first exposure to games was Pong at age 2. First PC game was King's Bounty and I used MS DOS, although DOS was outdated in 2000, I still had a PC with it.

Well, it was actuall 2000(98 was when I played Pong. Got dates mixed up), but no. I never got knew how to properly use DOS. I was four at the time. All I knew was that I could play King's Bounty.

Well, I was 3 and all I remembered were commands to boot from the disc and sometimes do some directory searching in DOS. I mean, we got windows 95 when I was 5 so I guess that kinda phased DOS out of my life.My first exposure to games was Pong at age 2. I made my own boot disks back before we had a hard drive and tweaking config.sys and autoexec.bat to run all your hardware (and later on extended memory in various formats) while still meeting the games base memory requirement was quite a learning experience. My first exposure to games was Pong at age 2. Video Games in general? Space Invaders when it first came out in the arcades (in UK).
On PC, probably Sopwith in the mid 1980s, running on MS-DOS (version 3.0, I think), with a CGA monitor (revolutionary 4 colours!!) and a 5.25 inch floppy drive.
early 90`s Windows 3.1 (I still have that laptop and use it frequently) first game Freddi Fish missing kelp seeds (most endearing character ever don`t argue with me) still play it often. First real game (by your definition would be Cyclones). Forgotten MSDOS shooter is awesome. I was playing video games when I was 2.
[QUOTE="HenriH-42"]o.o how old are you?MS-DOS and Civilization. :) Before that, some random games on Commodore 64 but I dunno if that counts.

19. :P My older brother got me into the classics first, I didn't even know that 3D games existed until 1998 lol.
MSDOS, Mixed Up Mother Goose. Monochrome display, PC internal speaker. Oooh yeah.

Oh man, me and my friend used to play that game all the time. We had a very similar computer, B&W monitor, PC speaker, some old version of DOS and revolutionary 20 WHOPPING MEGABYTES of hard drive space full of games. Mother Goose, Bubble Bobble and Commander Keen.. ahh the memories. That reminds me when we found a copy of the first Leisure Suit Larry game on that PC, after I learned how to navigate DOS. That was uh, quite an experience.

HAHA I remember the first Leisure Suit Larry. It had the whole thing where you had to answer three out of five questions right to prove you were over 18. Those questions were sometimes as much fun as the game itself... If you arrived at a party wearing your birthday suit, you would a. make many new friends. b. be thrown out. c. fit right in. d. It depends on the party. Correct answer: d.[QUOTE="psn8214"]can you play flight sim 98 on windows 95? 0.o strange I played Microsoft Golf 98 on Windows 95, not that strange. I can't remember the very first, but Lego Rock Raiders was one of the first, and that was on Windows 98.
Windows 32 (Don't really know the name of it exactly...). First game was either Mega Race or Battle Chess. I played those so much, I don't remember which I had first :P
Windows 3.1 - Betrayal at Krondor
I was about... 12. Tough game to play at that age. I basically got stomped by everything. I mostly watched my dad play it as I didn't know what I was doing.
