I have just finished installing Left 4 Dead onto my new PC.

When I go to launch it, it says that it is not available and to try another time.

It wont let me start it up, what do I need to do to get it working?

It might be your internet. Games need to authenticate with Steam servers after installation. Sometimes if your internet is slow, or the Steam server are overloaded, it wont go through.

Keep trying, if that fails consult the Steam forums (steampowered.com iirc)...every solution to every problem Ive had was found there and fixed in five minutes.

sorry cant really help but have you updated all your drivers.

if it still does not work try re-install it.

you can try this, right click on the left 4 dead icon, then go properties and click on compatibility and set it to windows xp ( you must tick the little box) and the click ok and see if it work, goodluck.

before you do this you i think you need vista

Yeah the internet here kinda sucks.

Another problem I noticed, I went to the steam customer support website, went to log in, apperently the Account that I have just made does not exist.

ya, go do something else for an hour or, depending on what time it is where you live, go to sleep and try in the morning.

It sucks, I know (I couldnt play Empire: Total War for like eight hours after I bought it!) but just be patient.

Also, out of curiosity, did you buy a hard copy or download it? Seems like its an issue with a lot of hard copies.

Your need to create a separate account for the forums. It is separate from your game account.

I never download games (except WiiWare, like only one).

I like to have a hard copy of all the games I own, so I got the PC-DVD.

Guess I have to wait a while for the final 1% of the update to be completed.

Once it is working, I'll be set for a while.
