So my 360 just strained its brain trying to process the act of me pressing the power button and it gave me the RROD. [5th time] I turned to my PC. The only games I really play for my PC are strategy games and I need a good one. My computer is garbage, so preferably a low detailed game. I currently have Rome Total War, Battle for middle Earth, Rise of nations, and Age of empires 3. I am thinking about Star Wars Empire at war, but I want your opinions.

if u like skirmishes and online play in strategy games then sins of a solar empire is excellent and not too demanding (if u can run rome well then it shouldnt be a problem). great gameplay and design and quite pretty too. however a word of warning..it has no single player campaign...at all. theres off line skirmishes against AI (and they will last an age on the bigger maps) but thats it in terms of single player.

homeworld 2 is also very good..as is warhammer dawn of war.

I know this is old, but get StarCraft and Brood War (the expansion pack for it, might just want to see if you like it first then get it). Very fun game. Also, I haven't played this game but a lot of people on here really like it. Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War.

Star Wars Empire at War is garbage IMO. If you want value get C&C Saga it has all the C&C games except the expansion for Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath and it's the same price as First Decade which doesn't include Tiberium Wars. Some other games are Civ IV and if you like TBS get Heroes of Might and Magic Complete Collection :)(not even Orange Box competes with that :))

Thanks for the suggestions, I want Medieval Total war 2, but my crappy intel video card can't handle it. I have C&C 3 for my 360. I heard Warhammer was really fun, so I will try the demo. Thanks.

I don't even need a gaming system or pc to play strategy games. My house is so cluttered and junky that when I get home from work it's a strategy game to figure out how to walk around without causing an avalanche or tripping and getting killed.

The game has multiple difficulty levels:

  • Easy difficulty - Getting to the couch to watch tv
  • Medium difficulty - Getting to the kitchen to get hot pockets and beer (all I have right now)
  • Hard difficulty - Finding the bed and clearing enough space off to sleep on it
  • Insane difficulty - Taking out the garbage. Not only is it nearly impossible to carry the bag of trash to the front door, I'm usually confused about which bags in the house are trash and which are just bags of junk. Usually I can just tell by seeing which ones smell like rotten rancid moldy garbage.

You know, I think EA made a game like this and it tanked, even though it should have appealed to so many college students! Dang you EA!!!
