I work the night shift at a hotel. It's incredibly boring and all I really have to keep me company is my faithful HP TC1100 tablet. I am in need of a new game (as in a new classic game) to play, and I'd prefer something entertaining and engrossing enough for time to pass quickly. I'd also prefer something that would keep me occupied for weeks or even months, but not an MMORPG.

It also has to be able to run on these specs:

1ghz processor

1.5 gb ram

Geforce Go 420 32mb (can't do shader model 2 or above)

I appriciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I think you might be able to run Civilization III and IV. Those take up hours/weeks of time. A strategy game is what you're looking for surely if you want it to occupy you for months on end. So that's what I'd suggest, look around for strategy games.

There is no way in hell GTA SA would run on that tablet. I would recommend StarCraft, Soul reaver1,2,. Soul reaver 2 would literally suck you into its world and the game is really long. Maybe you should get a cheap laptop?

Age of Mythology + Titans, Great for killing random time.

Cave Story, a great retro-style game. Ran on a pentium 3 with a 4MB onboard graphics card for me.

Medieval Total War and Rome Total War, not too high spec, graphics are pretty crappy though. Rome's newer, and Medieval 2 *might* be able to run.

Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst, if you loved the original game, you'll love the PC expansion. Play it on the schtserv servers (download it from there as well)

Freelancer, a great space-style game, has great combat and isn't too confusing.

Download Betrayal at Krondor and DOSBox, it took me about 18 months of virtually continual play to complete the game, it is surprisingly huge for a DOS based game, and if you haven't read the series of books that the game was taken from (the Magician series by Raymond E. Feist) you might rather enjoy them as well.
