Recently my PC has been having issues starting up, normally if I hit the power button it will beep, then everything will begin to load. However as of late its been powering on, but not loading. Ussually takes a few tries to get it a good start. I've never overclocked, my machine has been pretty much running stock since I ordered it.

Today though I noticed that my northbridge fan had seized. How long it was like that, I really have no idea. I'm a little worried that may have done permanent damage to my mobo's northbridge chipset. Tomorrow I'm gonna go get a new heatsink, I currently have the old one removed.

Thanks for any help.

I'm not positive but i think if you did any significant damage it would never turn on.

EDIT: Forget the word "significant" if you did "any" damage it would not turn on.

Either you have damaged the NB(unlikely though, since you don't OC) or the fact that the fan has stopped working giving the signal that something is wrong with one of your hardware component, thus having problems when booting up.
