This is the rig Here. He wants it to be future proof for many years and doesn't really care what he spends. I'm trying to help him trim the price of his rig without getting a huge loss in performance. He didnt really put any time looking for well priced items as far as i know. Can you guys give me some critiques on what he should switch out or keep, or what is worth the price? Thanks in advance.

Depends on what it will be used for. An i7 is overkill for gaming. I'd recommend an i5 4670k, that would save ~$100. You'd need to switch to a z87 mobo for that. I don't really know how to pick a mobo though.

You won't need to overclock it right away so you could wait on the CPU cooler.

That BluRay drive is out of stock but here's an OEM drive for cheaper. I honestly don't even use a disk drive at all though. If you can manage to install the OS without it you could just drop it?

EDIT: I'd also recommend getting an OEM copy of Windows.

I can't find a reason for a 760Watt PSU, as already said i7 is killer for gaming the 4670 or the K version is the best to get today, if he's not into overclocking then I'd replace the motherboard and won't go for the K cpus
