I've pretty much got all my other crap figured out, but for the life of me can't find a good mother board with Sli AND Intel q6600 support that can be overclocked. Thought I had found it with the ASUS P5K DELUXE/WIFI-AP ATX Intel Motherboard but then saw that it was cross-fire only. I've looked at a bunch of others on Newegg and have seem waay to many neg. than positive comments. So for those of you that have Sli and Intel Processor running what are you using or what do you recommend? I'll post other specs if needed.

I'm wanting to stick to sli due to the new 8800gt which i hear has a slightedge over the new ati 3000 series. So PLEASE HELP so I can start ordering crap already and getting this thing going! Thanks

Does anybody have an idea where I can get the 680i A1 SLI board (blue and black one)? I have looked at so many sites and I can't find it anywhere. Thanks.

What is the main difference between these two? The only main thing I can tell is that the 680i has an extra pci-e slot, and it looks like it's cooled differently (don't know much about mobo but that's just what it looks like), also more usb ports but that's no biggie. If I don't want to pay $250 (at the link above) for that board, will the 680i LT suffice for my needs? Not sure exactly how much the different cooling will affect performance or whatnot.

DO NOT GET ANY OF THE 600 SERIES MOTHERBOARDS!!!

Most are *NOT* compatible with Penryn due to changes in its microcode by Intel and because majority of the VRM's on 6x0i motherboards are not equipped to handle Penryn.

Wait for the 780i SLi if you want Penryn support and SLi support (as well as PCIe2.0).

I guess it's a good thing i'm not getting a Penryn then.....and i'm also through with waiting. Everytime I'm about to get something someone says wait, a new product is about to be released. By the time that product comes out and your about to buy that someone else will say wait, something is about to be released so wait for that to come out first. That's just how the pc industry has become.

Also,I still don't know exactly what the difference is between the 680i and the LT version. I read reviews from people who have LT and says it's the same as the 680i (same chipset) but just one less pci-e slot (for physics card) and some usb ports. So along with the price difference I've decided to go with the LT version.

Don't listen to those that bash the LT version of the 680i. The only difference between the 680i & LT version is the 3rd 8X PCI-Express slot that's available on the 680i version it also has an extra LAN port on the back, other than that theres no major differences of the two boards. The 680i-LT version is exactly the same as the 680i version. I have the XFX 680i-LT board and it is a VERY VERY STABLE GREAT overclocking board. I have my E6550 core2duo cpu overclocked from 2.3GHz to3.0GHz (im sure it can go higher but im fine with where im at). My ram is also overclocked from 800MHz to 1032MHz and that's only the beginning of my overclocking adventure with this board. So i'd definately recommend the LT version if you're looking to save a little money and overlook the non-important extra features on the 680i version that you probably won't use anyways like me. Heres both versions on Tigerdirect..look at the pictures on both and you'll see that theres really not much of a difference other than what I described to you. 680i version680i LT version
