need a music editor. Please help

I do quizs and at the moment i get songs, burn them onto cd, and every song has to be paused at the right moment before the next one is played because you guess the song.....anyway, as you can imagine is v hard!?!!?

Is there a simple programme where i can put music on it, but put say have a 5-10 sec blank bit in between each song where its quite and i can say "and the next song is what ladys and gentlemen??".... So basically, i can put music in and have a blank 5 sec after each song so i dont have 2 guess times and press pause after each song?!

You can do something that simple with a normal Video Editing program such as Premier. There are tons of programs to allow you to do something, but getting a full blown program to do something so simple might be a bit overboard. If you're looking for something lightweight you may want to go with Audacity. It's a freeware program and is pretty easy to use, but might require a bit of trial and error for you to actually accomplish your task.
