So I'm getting a new rig, but I need a case and a CPU cooler.

I dont want a flashy case, so no LED's or I want it to be almost unseen (So no HAX 932/922 cases), currently eying the Lian Li Lancool First Knight (just hate the side window).

Cooler, needs to cool a 3570k @ 4Ghz+ OC, obviously needs to fit in the case (Fan or a condensed liquid like the h100 stuff)

Haf cases have a single red led in the front fan that has an on off switch. Even then they aren't very bright.

So don't want a window? Also which First Knight you looking at (appears to be several models that carry that name)?

Whats teh budget for the both of them?

As for coolers, the biggest draw to the closed loop things, that I see, is aesthetics (which is why I'll be using one next build). They look much cleaner than a big hunk of metal in the middle of your case, but if you're not interested in windows, you probs won't be interested in that.

Fractal Design make good cases without flashy looks. They're very quiet too.

Some corsairs go for a similar look too.

I personally just went and got the fractal design define XL the R3 bigger brother and absolutely love the understatedness of it while still being a full tower case. Can highly recommend great build quality and sound absorbing built in.

I do like that Corsair Carbide now, just haven't read any reviews for that case.

I should have said, its roughly $170 AUD for case and cooler, the Corsair is right in my range, havent really heard of Fractal but any reviews or links to read?

They have a very good reputation here in Scandinavia at least (it's a Swedish company). I haven't read any english reviews but if you check newegg a majority of their cases have 5 eggs (rest 4). They seem to have gotten awards from bit-tech, techpowerup etc. as well so can probably find reviews on their sites. I haven't used one myself but I do love the minimalistic design.

the HAF912+ comes with a 200mm sickle fan which glows red you can replace it with 1 or 2 120mm fans easily

Thanks for that, I'm more than likely getting the Corsair Carbide 400R, really like it.[QUOTE="WWIAB"] the HAF912+ comes with a 200mm sickle fan which glows red you can replace it with 1 or 2 120mm fans easily

Don't know if they're over your budget but check out Noctua NH-U12P.

No real life experience but from what I've read the H60 is rather loud and cannot match high end air coolers. Since the U12P was under budget I guess you can afford a Noctua D14? One of the best air coolers around, and the only "closed loop" cooler that matches it is the H100.

Thanks again for that, I'll just need to see how big the cooler is so it fits in the case.
