You can get great deals for monitors at tiger direct (www.tigerdirect.ca or www.tigerdirect.com). With your budget, you could get a lot more than you want. Depends on if you're in Canada or America.

for 450 bucksis too much for a monitor but you can probably get a 26" 1080p for that money

Nice, simple 24"gaming monitor. I'll vouch for it as it's essentially the 24" version of my 22":

You can get two with your budget.

If you have an extra $50 over your $450to spend and feel like getting something that isn't a TN panel (although if you're just gaming/watching movies it won't really matter):

If you aint got a nice set of 5.1 yet, than I suggest you dump that moolah into one, and just get a 1080 22incher. Or just throw it into tri-monitor set up if you can, I havent been keeping up with prices but I think their still pretty cheap. Monitors price to size ratio gets bad as you move up in inches as oppose to tv, but of course you dont want a tv for computering.

Whoa, that's weird. I was just looking at the 24" like 20 minutes ago and it's price just went down $120.

Still, perhaps this 23" would be better. It's not as great as the 24" (although it is still IPS), but for $200 less it's certainly the better bang for your buck.
