I'm looking for a decent gaming PC, either laptop or desktop, and am willing to spend up to $2000 Canadian (maybe a couple hundred more), and I was just looking for suggestions. And If I should wait for the graphics cards coming next. Also what does ATI have for next year, because Nvidia has the fermi G300 right? Thanks

Release pricing for Fermi looks to be in the $600 USD price range. This is what Nvidia has done with practically every new card they've done.

Yuck that is still way too expensive for me. I personally wouldn't mind buying a Fermi card if I could afford it :( Today's market for the most part can not tolerate $600 Video Cards anymore (economy and all).

What cards does ATI have to match the Fermi for next year? And when you say you'll give me suggestions, do you mean I ask you tell or you just tell?

Well ATI has the 5970 coming out but I heard that this card is around 13 inches long which is just horrible due to its length :x. I'm going to start a petition for those people who want ATI to make their higher end cards a tad bit smaller so they can fit into our cases ;) Anyway I'll offer suggestions for components based on what kind of PC you want. For example: what games are you going to be playing?, Are you going to be watching Blu-ray movies on this PC?, Do you want a near silent PC?, are you looking to go with a dual-GPU configuration? All of these questions you should ask yourself when you are building a new computer see ;) :) :) :D

lol well you'll have to buy the parts and assemble it. or you can have someone buy the parts and "assemble" it for you (like me, yes UltimateGamer offers to build PCs "literally" for people) :). Well if you were to buy the parts and assemble it yourself then your best bets would be NCIX or Newegg.Ca (sorry those are the only two Canadian online stores I know about; Yeah forgive me I'm an American lol). The price of PC Hardware has gone up a bit (mostly due to the anticipation of Windows 7 I'm sure). However, don't worry because you still have plenty of money for a nice gaming PC. :) :)

Two 5870s for 600 dollars? Probably will get better performance.
