I'm putting in a new Vid Card, and my current 300w just ain't cutting it. I've got a HIPRO HP-D3057f3r that came stock in my HP. I was curious what I would need to know before looking for a new PSU.

Depends on what the new video card is, and whether or not that power supply is a standard ATX layout.

I dunno whether or not it is ATX. It dosen't say on the sticker. I looked it up, and all the pages I saw said ATX, and I believe, 24 pin. Not sure what that means... As for the card, I was gonna go for something in the Nvidia GeForce 7 series.

Well 450watt will be more than enough. The psu in my sig is a nice quiet one. if your goign for soemthing like a 7900 id go for a 500watt tho perhaps.

Are case dimensions relevant? A post I made a while back, I was encouraged to find those. (Still Haven't)

I'm not too worried about the price. Mind you that I won't be running out to buy anything this weekend, but I am still in school and work part time, and have very few financial obligations.

I'd shoot for the Corsair HX620 then - rock-solid, modular, and plenty of juice for the most power-hungry of setups.

The manual included with the power supply should cover everything you need to know - the power supply isn't that complicated, most of the connectors won't fit anywhere they're not supposed to without a hugely excessive amount of force.

Any good places to buy one? Newegg and tiger direct don't have it. Any Ideas?
