After replacing my older Microsoft router for the new D-Link DIR-665, ive had nothing but problems. The router constantly disconnects, drop connections, gives out bad ip addresses, and more... After a little research i discovered that i owned the A4 Hardware version of the router, and after looking at reviews i realized the A4 is unreliable and is just utter crap..

so this time i thought i would do some research as to what a good router for gaming would be, so my question is; does anybody know a solid router that is reliable and it is good for gaming? if possible i am searching for a router that could operate in legacy mode to support b connections. just thought i would get some opinions on what exactly is a good router that i could still buy today

i have the DIR 655 and it Extremely Stable :D Compare to Dl-604 even tough went after DMZ hosting / Enable all port possible it given me trouble on Xbox Live
To join half of the game my Friend joined in group of 4-5 Which was Abornomal as other ad Linksys router as it was latest firmware and said to be 100% compatible with live ? yes it log on it but does it work like it should nah

so learned from some professional that it basically just a bad router OVER-sell-ed Eventough the LAtest Revision it was still Bad ..
so went with That as it Was cheaper Then the Linksys Wireless N Draft At 155$ was no more in sales while mine at 115$ so was in nice sales went with it : it do all Ethernet Gigabythe + Wireless N

So If in future PSP Become enable to Support wifi N Trough Revision or PSP 2 more say.. and stuff like that my router will be Ready :P
IF also newer laptop come here : or after a card of 20$ tough i don't see a use full of N Wifi Yet For me I Found out all i need is a Stable Router with lot of option That Offer Gigabyte Lan connection so i get the Best of all to spread the net to the 3 other Device Cabled :

I could also try put Two On my motherboard They called that dual Gigabyte Lan I wonder how it work haha and what it does all i can say it work stable my router model as i changed just the router from other i gained severely a Better MS Average when Logging in game but that cause of Gigabyth connetion like 3-4ms average faster not a big deal :D such as 33ms instead of 36ms or maybe just the net went faster trough mystery but it did somehow. all i seem to know

I hopefully you get a good Router.. As for my DIR-655 Seem to work Great You could maybe Try the Linkys Version

yeah ive read that those with the A2 or A3 Hardware revisions are having no problems and the router is amazing... sadly the stories not the same for the A4 or A1; there is also no way for me to buy the A2 as they no longer manufacture that version of the router.. ive been looking at linksys and netgear's routers and was hoping i could get an opinion on them
