I have bought a D-link DIR-628, ****** F5D8236-4, Linksys WRT160N and finally the one I own now is the Linksys WRT54G2.

all the other ones I tried for a good 2-3 wks and all of them dropped the line at least 3-4 times within that time. I called support on all of them and they talked me through supposedly fixing the problems and nothing. so one by one I exchanged them. All the others were N not G.

Now I got the WRT54G2 and it was doing fine and it dropped twice now and my sons xbox gets really slow wireless speeds. It was fine for a good while...no problems playing online or watching netflix.

I called support and they game his 360 and ps3 wireless priority and still nothing. Netflix is always saying your connection has slowed and the picture looks like crap after that. I never did that before. Also the 360 online is slow...and it never was before. When I go into the network setting in the 360 everything seems fine...he even has 3-4 bars of connection.

What is going on?? All those routers and nothing.

this is my network at home:

360, ps3, desktop (all wired)

360, ps3, laptop, desktop (all wireless)

All my devices are G none are N. All the routers I mentioned were N because I heard they gave me more range as far as wireless. The WRT54G2 is G.

The one I had was a Netgear WPN824 which I had for about 2 years and it just died. I need some major advice here. I am running out of options. Literally. Thanks.

OH. I have RRunner turbo. The router is about 19 feet away from the consoles with only one wall in between. I own a 5.3 ghz home phone.

Theres nothing you can really do until you get a better router, My router drops out a few tmes during the week but my older router/same model never did that. These newer models dont come with as much memory as older routers to buffer the data and sometimes you overload it. Which causes it to reboot, resetting it once a week will help.
