Looks very good, and i think its all compatible.

I don't know anything about power supplies though, so someone else will have to help you on that.

In my experience Sound Cards are more trouble that they are worth. My one is always having driver problems.

Only get a Sound Card if you are gonna get a really good set of speakers as well.

Soundcards also help improve framerate since it wont be running from your motherboard.

If you're going for a quad core i would recommend you get faster RAM at PC6400 or higher speeds.

IF you have got enough money to afford a great system including a Quad, i am sure you have enough money to buy a 30" Monitor. So get a 30" and a 8800 720GTX

I agree with Gekko quads are a waste of money at the mo, especially as the rest of your system only uses mainstream parts. Make sure you wait until the 22nd of April as that's when Intel is cutting its prices.

I don't believe in anything less than add-in sound...Sound plays a huge role for me in games...but that's just me :) Audiophiles for the win! (I was so happy to get my xtremegamer working in vista last night.....giggle)

Sound aint much of a big deal to me, as long as i have loud speakers im fine and a good bass im fine. I remember when Doom 3 came out they made such a big deal about that game interms of sound and speakers you will need, i played it with just my theatre system on loud and it sounded just as good as it does on a 5.1 system.

I have a Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio soundcard, but i also have a great set of 7.1 speakers to go with it. The bass is just amazing, the whole room shakes. lol

I've never used the speakers without the soundcard, so its hard for me to say how much difference the soundcard makes.

llol yea the base is good. with my speakers at like quarter-full volume i can hear it perfectly fine outside of my house. even on low i can still feel the base on the 3rd floor in my bedroom and my pc is in the basement.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. To be honest I didn't think I was going to get as much of a response as I did.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. Will probably go for C2D rather than quad core and faster ram. Not to sure about a sound card. I'll have to put more thought into that.

If I go for C2D that would free up some cash for a GTX card.

Will the mobo last me long. I'm trying to futureproof as much as possible.

Thanks again.
