Hello..

Since im going to USA in 3 weeks im thinking on upgrading my cpu. I will have saved around 250$ max to spend on a new CPU/moterboad combo. My current specs are:

-Pentium D 830 @ 3.2 ghz

-4x512mb ram pc5300

-Nvidia 7900gs OC 256mb

-160GB

-Asus 955xi premiun motherboard

What i plan is to keep my current videocard and ram and buy a new cpu and a motherboard. The problem is there are so many procesors and motherboards out there, i dont know wich one would be wive the msot perfomance for my games. I can go amd or intel and i can overclock also to. I just need to know exactly what will be best fro that price range. I jsut want to get rid of this old and super hot pentium D and be capabale with a better cpu to play the newer games.

Thank you

Motherboard MSI P35 platinum

$125 after MIR

CPU Core 2 Duo E4400 allendale

$130

This combo should be great for you, the E4400 is a brilliant overclocker too

Total $255

Looks pretty good,, but got 2 questions?

-Is it worth paying more for faster cpu and less for a motherboard?

-Will i see noticeable improvements?

i would quite honestly just keep the motherboard i suggested and get as powerful a processor as you can, the e4400 can overclock to around 3.00ghz.
