what is a good computer thati couldget from a store? my budget is $500. I want to be able to upgrade the parts in the computer as time go's on as well. i need a big hard drive to save lots of music, files etc. My parents really dont like to buy things from a website so a store is best. i live in canada jus so u no.
it will be used for hw, internet surfing and downloading music and stuff. It will also be used for some video gaming like guild wars and possibly cod 4. I have a geforce 9500 gt video card i can use if it makes the computer cheaper and keeps it in my budget. Like i said my parents dont really like buying stuff this internet. would i be better just to go to a computer special shop and tell them my needs and they et me up a computer? please help

here is a computer ive been looking at: http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=025890&cid=DPC.405or maybe this: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10128408&catid

If you want a decent gaming PC then you will have to spend atleast $600. But the computers you have links to are not really good for gaming but good for anything else like internet. neither of those pc's can play COD4. not sure about guild wars

Here's a decent one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;jsessionid=83ACCE3033DD7F58B8BF363096069411.bbolsp-app05-18?skuId=9013907&type=product&id=1218008371945 You would need to save for a better graphics card though. Here's a list so you can make your own decision: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstemplatemapper.jsp?id=pcat17080&type=page&qp=crootcategoryid%23%23-1%23%23-1~~q70726f63657373696e6774696d653a3e313930302d30312d3031~~cabcat0500000%23%230%23%2311a~~cabcat0501000%23%230%23%2329~~f551||414d44~~nf408||24323530202d20243439392e3939&list=y&nrp=15&sc=abComputerSP&ks=960&usc=abcat0500000&sp=-displaydate+skuid&list=y&iht=n&st=processingtime%3A%3E1900-01-01

i recommend this one.. only costs $619!!! that's about as good a bargain as you are going to find. a good gaming pc is usually pricey.

I got that down to 530$ by swapping out the case, ram and cpu for cheaper ones and adding a better video card. Problem is though that it doesn't come with an operating system.
