Need assistance connecting my pc to a television.

Hey folks. Just wondering if anyone can help me with a problem I'm having when connecting my pc to my television. I've connected my hdmi cable to the tv and I get a clear image. Only problem is I can't get sound.

I do recall the first time I connected to the tv I got a pop-up message sayingI need another audio cable to connect to either my tv or reciever for the sound to work. I am unsure as to what cable/cables I need. Also I am using a reciever.

I tried using an optical cable from my pc to the reciever but that did not work. Any help would be great. I'm assuming I need some other kind of cable??

I had the same problem. What I did was go to my computer and open up system tools (or something like that) and go to the Sound options. My computer had its sound default set to my computer monitor but it recognized my HDTV as an option. When I switched the default to the HDTV it worked perfectly. Good luck.
