Don't buy "gaming" headphones. Just buy headphones. What's your budget. I reccomend Seinheiser HD 280 if you can spend $90-$100ish.

I just got the HD280s for $74.35 shipped from one of the stores on amazon.com. Great headphones for the price, and then some piece o crap $5 mic from radioshack I've had for years for online gaming.

Yeah, but they suck. When you cram all those drivers into one headphone cup, the drivers are tiny and dont have good frequency response. Basically they have bad audio fidelity...

yes, but for gaming they come in handy, being able to hear people coming up behind you....is worth its wait in gold for fps on headphones. and although they dont sound as good as a good pair of stero headphones, they can sound quite good.

but thats also why i recomend the 280s if he just wanted them for music.

I you have an x-fi, they have a feature called CMSS-3D. It basically mimics surround sound projection using the speaker's 90 degree angle at your ears (in headphones). Obviously discreet surround speakers would give better positional audio... but at the price of audio quality.

PC 350s from Sennheiser are coming. 250USD, but look very comfortable and are marketed for gamers.

Normally I wouldn't give two ****s about "gaming" headphones. But this is Sennheiser, not some no-name company.

Inferior audio quality, I imagine.
