Any good shooter RPG's other than Fallout, Mass Effect (not for PC yet) and Hellgate??

If you're feeling brave - ain't afraid of no bugs! - you could try Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines (what a title!).
Just make sure you get the latest fan-made patch.
I actually have that but I can't stand the combat. I wasn't a fan of Tron 2.0 either, although I didn't give it much of a chance.
I'm not afraid of bugs though, I love STALKER...
Deus Ex.
But avoid Invisible War if you're looking for RPG goodness.
Ein-7919
Deus Ex! I forgot about that!
Absolute classic. Get it.
I forgot about that as well...but I played it to death. IW was pretty beat...
Hah, I forget people don't know what I played...To be fair, I forgot about those games.
I that case, I'm out of ideas.
Maybe find a hypnotist who can wipe your memory - then you could enjoy those games again.
You mentioned Fallout but everyone is giving you FPS games so I'm a bit confused. What do you mean with "shooter RPG"? You want a FPS with RPG elements or a RPG with guns? I think all the FPS/RPG's have already been mentioned, but there are some RPG with guns that have not been mentioned yet.
Here are some games that I know. I won't give you much info, only a name, basic description and whether I liked it or not. I'm sure you can find lots of info about them on the internet. Whenever I mention old graphics, I don't mean this as a bad thing. I personally don't care that much about old graphics. I just mention it for your information. Seeing as how you played Fallout, I guess you won't mind similar looking graphics in the turn based games.
UFO games. Latest real time RPG game is UFO Afterlight. Latest turn based game is UFO Extraterrestrials. The UFO games also have some simple strategy elements where you have to manage research, very simple base building and "military" actions. But once you start fighting it's like an RPG, with guns. I like these games a lot because it's a mix of strategy and action. They are the kind of games that use a strategic map for management and a tactical map for the action. Graphics are kinda old in the turn based games and pretty decent in the real time games.
Jagged Alliance games. They are very old and I never got into them, so I don't know much about them. Except that they are turn based RPG games with guns. Graphics are really old.
Brigade E5. I believe it was inspired by Jagged Alliance. But as far as I know, the only thing similar is the setting. It's about mercenaries. This RPG is real time. Anyway, I played the hell out of this game. Graphics look kinda bland by now, so you'll have to look past that. I liked it because it's semi-realistic and it allows you to use certain "real life" tactics. So managing the battles can become really complex. If you know any tactics, that is. You can buy loads and loads of different equipment and guns. There are also some mods that add more things. There's a sequal called 7.62 (named after the old caliber used by AK rifles). But this sequal is in Russian and an English version will come out in Q2 of this year, in a few months.
There's a really old game called SWAT2. But good luck finding that one! The game is pretty fun and really cool. This game is also real time and semi-realistic. The bad thing is that your own officers have almost no AI controlling them and there is no way to pause the action to queue up orders. So there's lots of micro management. Graphics are really old.
There are some other games but I can't remember them because I probably haven't played them myself.
I mean shooter as in hand-held weapons. I don't mind if they are new or kind of old but nothing ancient. Anything older than Fallout is a no-no.
I think all the FPS/RPG games HAVE been mentioned but I hope there are some decent ones that haven't been said.
I'm not TOO TOO picky about games but they obviously have to be worth playing. (Did I even have to say that?)
I'll welcome any other FPS' with RPG elements like STALKER but I don't know how many even exist. I'm kind of getting bored of the average shooter.
Also, I'd like to stay clear of MMO's. I have Hellgate but it isn't that great in my eyes. So no for Planet Side and Tabula Rasa. Thanks for at least helping out.
And I want to slap the person who said Bioshock. No offense to YOU but it's Bioshock I have the problem with. It's way too over-rated and it's in no way an RPG. It was fun ONE TIME!!! AHH! End rant.
theres shooting in kotor1and2 if you want?WARxSnake
I totally forgot about those 2. Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 are both excellent games. They are set in the Star Wars universe so you'll get all those fancy sci-fi laser weapons. Fighting is in real time. Both of these games are a must have.
Just so you know, Planetside plays exactly like the Battlefield games but on a much much much larger scale. The bad thing is that the graphics looks old by now and I don't think there are that many people still playing it. Back when this game was still widely popular it was a must have for the large battles. It's exactly how a MMO-FPSRPG should be. You could level up and get better guns but you could get quick kills even with the starting gun.
Did I specify 'good game'?
And anything OTHER than KOTOR?
darkSIDEechoes
Oh yee without great taste in games...
Just wait for the next Stalker, Deus Ex 3, Bioshock 2 and so on. There are not many shooters/RPGs out there that are worth playing.
BlackAlpha, can you call Kotor's combat real time?
Oh, just noticed that no one's mentioned Boiling Point. I haven't played it, but I think it's at least like STALKER with some role-playing elements, from what I've read about it (quests, inventory system).JP_Russell
Yeah, but I hear it blows... Maybe worth a try, not like there's any good alternatives left.

Most people I've heard talk about it say it's just an okay game, but not a bad one. That's good enough for me, personally.
2 suggestions...
1) Silent Storm
It's turn based, so don't know if you will like it. But if you don't mind turn based games, this one is a gem. It's more of a strategy game, but there are RPG elements. Such as your troops gaining experience, troop classes with skill trees, collecting new weapons, and things like that. Also has really nice graphics and completely destructable levels.
2) Alien Shooter 2
More of an arcade type game (over head view) but for a bargain bin game it's a blast. You level up as you play, and can increase stats/proficencies and use different types of weapons. Very fun game, and well worth the small price (I think I picked it up for $20).
And if you have an Xbox 360, Too Human is comming out in May. Looks very good.
Can't belive no one mentioned Mass Effect which is comming out in may for PC, I know I'm getting it.M4st3r

First post.......
I loved STALKER.
I wish I could lock this topic because now no one is reading what was said already. Plus I don't know how many games are even OUT THERE with FPS/RPG elements.
[QUOTE="fireandcloud"]borderlands?darkSIDEechoes
That's just a reg. shooter. LOL nice try, though.
i thought it was gonna have some rpg elements, like tons of items like guns, armor, etc. and some stats development?
Alien Shooter: Vengeance
It's just a Diablo type RPG with guns and aliens. But it's a lot of fun.
The Demo is less than 200MB if you want to give it a try. I have the full game, and enjoyed it.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Good mix of RPG, FPS and pure greatness.
Buffalo_Soulja
Yeah that's awesome. Needs the fan patch to make it work though.

Why the hell don't you post what games you HAVE played, since people have made a dozen suggestions, only for you to say "lulz ive played that lulz". A "shooter rpg" that is just "weapons in your hand" is the dumbest explanation ever.
BlackAlpha, can you call Kotor's combat real time?
artur79
Well, the combat doesn't exactly happen in turns. But it's not total real time. I think it's called "simulated real time". It's the system that most RPGs use. Basically, the gameplay mechanics are turn based but there's no waiting involved. Everyone can do things at the same time without waiting for others to finish their turn. So it plays like a real time game but if you pay close attention you will see that there are turns involved in the battles, which make the characters pause every now and then. But these waiting periods can be interpreted as moments when the character takes a pause to regain strenght, steady his gun or whatever that needs to be done in battle. So even though there are turn based mechanics at work behind the scene, the gameplay seems realistic enough to look like real time.
Err... well, how about Tyrian 2000? It's a scrolling 2D space shooter where you get to buy a new ship, various weapons, your shield generator, and your power generator in between levels. I guess you could kind of sort of call those RP elements (you get to "develop" yourself). It's freeware these days and needs DOSBox to play. And for an old 2D game, the graphics are really pretty. Colorful, high-res, lots of cool-looking effects. It's also easily the best scrolling shooter I've ever played; combat is just a blast all the way through, weapon variety is insane, bosses are impressive, graphics as mentioned are really nice, MIDI music is some of the best I've ever heard, nice sound effects, a story you can follow if you want.
Unless, of course, you've already played it. :P

Hey...how about this? Don't post here!
I don't mind if people post a game that I've played but the games that have ALREADY been said.
How is that the dumbest explanation ever? It gets rid of space ship type stuff.
LULZ I've PLAYED THAT! LULZ!
LULZ!!!!!!

I think of it as turn based combat that you can interrupt in real time or something like that... It's not like an interruption will suddenly give you an extra turn or anything. I'm no expert on the subject though, so maybe you can call it real time'ish.

One of the differences is that if you interupt an action in a game that uses turn based mechanics, then you might have to wait until the next round/turn before you can perform the action again. So your character will wait for a couple or maybe just one second (depending on when the current round/turn ends). In a real time game it will always take the same amount of time to perform the action, no matter when you want to perform the action. There's no waiting involved.
So, for example, if shooting happends instantly in a real time game, you can stop and instantly resume shooting at any moment. While with turn based mechanics, if you have already performed your maximum amount of actions in the round/turn, you might have to wait until the round/turn ends.

Indeed.
Borderlands is technically a RPS (Role Playing Shooter), and an awesome game might I add ;)
STALKER is far from an RPG but I have both SS2 and STALKER...preferably something newer than SS2...darkSIDEechoesStalker isnt far from rpg. It plays almost exactly like an rpg. Instead of starting with weak skills you start with weak weapons. You go from getting your but whipped to being a force to be reckoned with just like an rpg.
You have main quests, side quests, invenetory, dialogue. Its as close to rpg as you can get without actually being one.
