Hi, I recently bought a new computer with Vista and a Nvidia 8800 GTS card and I'm having some troubles. Some games that i buy like Stalker and Call of Juarez are having problemss with shade and light. Like in stalker light from lamps or something always flicker and in Juarez shade seems to streak and flicker all over the place. Do you guys know whats causing this and how it could be fixed?

Describe "flicker" or post a picture. All I can tell is that it might be an overclocking issue or some bad memory.

if you could give a screenshot that would be nice....but it sounds like you should get the latest drivrs....its also important to point out that STALKER does not officially support Vista...and is sometimes known to have problems with it.

its not like real looking flicker of a broken light its like jagged edges popping all over the place. And shade seems to stretch on the ground. Its very messed up and hard to discribe.

And I know that Stalker has vista problems but I dl'd all the patches and I'm getting the same problems in Juarez. It helps when I totally turn off shadows in the games.

Yeah, if you have updated your drivers and all that then try running MemTest and see if there are any errors (or if your GPU or FSB is overclocked, unclock it). Also touch your memory/gpu to make sure its not overheating. If you cant hold your finger on it for too long, then its probably too hot.
