Well, I'm planning on building a new pc, which would be used mostly for gaming purposes and my budget would be around $1000, including monitor. I'm not an expert on this, so I need your suggestions. About the processor, I was thinking on the Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 with an ASUS motherboard. Oh, and I want a monitor not bigger than 20'', due to the size of my desk. I'll be ordering this from the US. Hope you can help me.

Pretty good build, but you're missing an OS and DVD drive.

No, I already have the DVD drive and the OP. And that does look like a good build, so thanks.

Your motherboard spec's will tell you how much RAM it can support and what type. For instance my EP45-DQ6 has 4 slots capable of hold 16GB of DDR2 RAM. Still, you are further limited by your OS as if you are using Vista 32bit you will only see about 3GB's of RAM, the 64bit OS doesn't have that problem.

So how exactly do I check my motherboard specs?
