I recently thought about getting a HD tv that's in my price range of $600 or less.
I would only be using the tv for pretty much games and Blu-Ray movies.
I already have a 37" Panasonic SD television in my room which doesn't like my PS3 very much or gaming in general.
I don't want to downgrade from a 37" television.

I'm not sure which is better LCD or LED tvs
I know LCD tv's have the problem of their blacks getting a somewhat gray tint to them.

I was looking at a LG at a retail store that I also found on Wal-Mart.com
The price is different at the place but I will post the link. Provided here

A friend of mine said a VIZIO 32" Razor would be my best bet.
The link to that tv will be linked as well. Vizio Link

Also what kind of HDMI cables would I need for each of the tvs, if I'm using a Playstation 3 on either of them?
I'm aiming more towards the LG but I know nothing about televisions.

I would go with this TV for the best performance in your budget.

Panasonic S2 42inch Plasma - $578

http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-TC-P42S2-42-Inch-1080p-Plasma/dp/B0036VO70Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1292898118&sr=8-1

2nd that. You may even find it for a little less at local retailers when on sale.

HDMI cables brand or build don't matter. do not fall for Monster cables "gas-technology" or whatever gimmick they throw at you These will get the job done. I have almost the same ones bought from ebay and have had them for over 3 years with no problems:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-6-FT-PREMIUM-HDMI-CABLE-1-3-GOLD-PS3-HDTV-1080P-6FT-/320553514297?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa27a7539

these are triple shielded copper and have 1.3gold connectors. This cable will should suit you unless you decide to get a 3D tv which needs 1.4 I believe

I would also recommend the TV NVIDIATI linked above. Leaps and bounds better than any LCD/LED. If you dont like to order something as big as a TV online Bestbuy and other retailerssell them as well at comparable prices.

Thanks for the help everyone. Unforunatly we already have a Plasma tv in the living which my brother plays his PS3 on. It's 720P, and it's a LG as well.
To be honest I'm not that much impressed by Plasma tvs.

A different friend of mine suggested another Vizio tv, but for some reason I keep thinking the Vizio my other friend suggested are the exact same ones. I'll link them both.

Friend 1 Check Walmart.com Vizio 32" M320VT
Friend 2 Check the Target.com website VIZIO 32" M320NV

They both seem to be the same tvs to me. Friend 2 said it's a better tv than what Friend 1 said.
What is the difference between those two.
Just because they are both LED-LCD tvs does that mean they don't get as hot as fast and the definition is more define?

My brother has a 37" Vizio LCD tv but for some reason I'm the only one that notices the blacks are more of a gray tint.
If that is the case with LCD tvs then would my best bet be going with a LED-LCD tv?

I need to get this figured out before Wednesday or I get no TV at all.
My bed room isn't that big so I don't need anything above a 37".

I mean the LG 37" tv I was looking at didn't look bad but it had one of those display DVDs playing the entire time so I don't know how good it would be on gaming.

Panasonic's plasmas are not only the best plasmas, but the best TVs, LCD/LEDs alike. You would be making a mistake by not going for the Panasonic S2.

LG LD450 or Sony EX400, if you are stuck with LCD. I have bad experience with VIZIO. My aunt bought a VIZIO E420VA last week and the moment we turned it on there was a glaring bright red pixel and several dead pixels. A week later the whole screen blacked out. It also looked and felt very cheap and had a cheesy glowing VIZIO logo. Not to mention, the picture quality was inferior to the Sony 40EX401 we replaced it with.

There is a thread just below yours that is nearly identical. All the same TVs recommended. You're going to just suck it up and pick one, they all have draw backs. I would just skip LEDs it's a tech that hasn't really been perfected at that price range, though you might be able to get a nice set, it's kinda luck of the draw.

Yeah, if plasma tv's didnt suck for gaming. They're way too laggy for my liking. My Samsung Plasma take nearly a full second before I see a response from my controller. Even in game mode it feels a lot less responsive then my Sony LCD.

The Sony LCD is an XBR2. about 5 years old or something. And the Samsung is brand new, just dropped 3g's on it. I say stick with LCD for gaming purposes.

If you have to get an LCD, then the LD450 is a great choice. Just be sure to look on the box at the model number. That way, you get one with an LG S-IPS panel. It should look something like this:37LD450-UA.CCCWLH - make sure that bold letter is a W and not a D or other letter.

:? Plasma doesn't suck for gaming. And how did you spend $3000 on a Samsung plasma and have that issue? The $2000 top of the line Panasonic VT20/25 doesn't suffer from any input issues. What you're saying doesn't add up.

Samsung series 8 plasma. If it's not in game mode it's laggy. In game mode it's not bad but it's still not nearly as responsive as my XBR. And nothing compares to how responsive an old CRT is.

Plasma is better for pretty much everything else. More vibrant colors, blacker blacks, cable channels looks 100% better(I dont know why LCD isn't good at cable tv...maybe somethings changed?). But for gaming I prefer the LCD hands down.

I'll never buy an LCD TV again (Nor will I buy a LED TV ever.) I've seen how good plasmas look with movies and how well games play on them, and how they trumph more expensive LCDs/LEDs. I'll only buy LCD for monitors, since that's what I'm limited to.

One plasma does not represent how all of them are. I have noticed that Samsung TVs seem to have more input lag than other brands. But I have gamed on a budget Sammy plasma and it doesn't have any noticeable input lag.

you know lcd have worst input lag than plasma right? Never compare them, just learn it upon hdtv forums. I own a sony led lcd and lag is pretty bad compare to my 5 year old dlp. Your 5 year old tv have faster respond is because is 5 years old.

Just throwing this out there. Never buy a tv at walmart. They may look the same but usually made from cheaper parts to lower the costs of production on units so Walmart can throw their "Better prices" gimmick at people but in fact you are getting an inferior product. Just saying.

Their LCDs maybe...but plasmas? Having the best displays on the market =/= poor quality.

I don't think this is true at all. They are one of the most reliable TV's out there. Consumer Reports confirms this with "problem rates with Panasonic is very low at 2% for LCD, and 3% for Plasma sets."

If you want a cheap TV that's good fopr gaming, the Panasonic S2 is a solid choice. Lage tests show you will only have a one to two frame delay. The cheaper Samsungs are a little worse in game mode, but they also do more processing. The 6500, 7000, and 8000 series Samsungs should only have about a one frame delay in game mode.

How about stop being lazy and explain your viewpoint? Otherwise, your opinion is pathetic.
