Need help finding gaming headphones!

So I'm sick of my $30 logitech headset as it doesn't feel very comfortable and the sound quality isn't the best. So I've decided to invest in a new headset. In order to get the best quality without going over budget (about $100) I decided I'd go with a pair of nice headphones and an external microphone instead of a headset with an attatched microphone.

The headphones seem nice, but my concern is that will the microphone pick up all the sound from my headphones as those headphones are open air? Feel free to suggest any other headphones/microphones you feel might be better.

Those are perfect! Much better then anything Razer/Astro/Tritton/Turtle Beach makes.

Two alternative headphones for around $100 are the Sennheiser HD555, and AKG K240. Though I've heard the AD700s are the best for gaming.

AD700 is very nice for competitive gaming. They are quite lacking in bass though, but that's the sacrifice made for excellent imaging.

Thanks for the feedback guys, but what about the clip microphone? Do you think using a clip microphone is possible with these headphones even if they are open air?
