Need help installing a game! URGENT!

So whenever I try to install GTA: SAI always get this error in the middle of it all:

Feature Tansfer Error

Feature: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Game Date

Component: anim

File: E:\data2.cab

Error: The device is not connected.

It tells me to click OK or Cancel. I click OK and it just ends the whole installation.
I bought this game legally and its on a disc if that helps.

Any way I can fix this?

Is it only data2.cab that causes ths to happen? IE it installs up to that point?

If so you have a buggy disc, however the device not connected thing is concerning me.
If it occurs randomly and not only on that file your CD/DVD drive cable may be loose.

If you know the innards of your PC open it up (aslong as you dont mind voiding your warranty), and find the back end of your DVD drive and check it. Make sure its plugged in, then follow the cable backwards along to your motherboard, check it there.

MAKE SURE ITS SWITCHED OFF, before you do this I have had so many idiots not do so.

...Er dont? Youd need to get it returned and exchanged.

If its after the 30day return period get crafty. Theres a law that states you have 1 whole year (USA has 3 I believe) to return a product if you can prove its faulty.

Simple. Take a screenshot , print it and get them to swap a disc, Im sure they wont argue. If it persists after that it may be your laptop.

Sorry didn't finish. could you get file from demo? Can the demo help you install the game. If so how would I do that?
