Hi there I recently got a new laptop which has two hard drives both being 320GB, now I decided to set up a backup on windows 7 in my secondary drive, I was expecting it to be a small file but to my surprise it ended up being a 100+ GB file!! well I don't want a file so big in my computer so i was gonna format that driver (keep in mind that the backup is the only thing in that drive) my questions are if this would harm my computer and what allocation sizes are and which one should i choose.

I think you can just format that drive w/o issues. 80% sure Back sure you back up all your data to an EXTERNAL drive just in case though
