Audio doesn't have to cost a lot, but $30 is just being cheap. You'd be better off just spending a little bit more, I mean you've obviously spent a good amount on your PC parts. There's no reason for you to buy crummy logitech speakers, just go for something like this:

Dayton B652 bookshelf + Dayton DTA-1 T-Amp ($58):

and you may need a tiny bit of speaker wire ($2):

maybe, the only thing im realizing is that my 10 year old speakers are better than 3 new ones ive tried lol i bet they are not even a watt each(mine) maybe to narrow it down can you recommend a few brands ? this is just for home and i want something that has bass because of music, at this point any cheap speaker is better than what i have, all i want is something slightly better but tbh $60 seems steep

If you want a sub your better off just going with something like the logitech 506. But the speakers he posted sound great

Only real way to decide on what type of Speaker system you like - is to Hear it first hand. Thats not just me saying that, any professional audio/video shop would say that.
Price is always up to you. Best advice is to somehow find a place that you could actually demo it somehow? I went to Best Buy, where they had a few on display.
I was actually on may way in to buy a set of Bose, but when I heard my Lotech's I was and still am much more satisfied. But again, that was just my preference.
I'd imagine if you were in the store with me - you may have an entirely different preference in what sounded better to you..

It doesn't matter what you buy for $60, it will be bad. Seriously. Speakers are expensive. I'm going to tell you something, and I hope you believe that I'm not trying to be anything, but you can judge cheap speakers by weight. Pick the heaviest ones within your budget. That way you can buy them online. You want 5.1, by the way, with a subwoofer.

for gaming, 2.1 is useless. you may aswell just buy decent headphones as youll get much better headphones for $30 than speakers. saying that though you wont go far wrong with a logitech 5.1 system, theyve been making them for years in various forms and had good success with good reason. you do get what you pay for though so if you can spend a little more youll be pleased with the results.
