Hiya. I just can't seem to remember this old rts game I used to play when my dad bought it for me. Year was around 1998, setting is future war. I'd appreciate some help, and I'll try to explain as much as possible. The most memorable part is that the human race has a flamethrower (fireballs), and the game itself is pretty difficult (i was a kid those days). There is also a tank of some sort that throws fireballs, and you can squish infantry with it. I believe there are 2 races or 3, the other perhaps aliens. They have defense structures of a Laser (like a turret). I only played 2 levels and lent it to a friend, who said he'd give back but now it's too late. I vaguely remember the package image (front image of cd), but I just can't remember the words. The package image was firey, that's all I can say (a lot of reds). The first two levels I played were the human race, in which you get only 1 tank that throws fireballs and a few infantry to eliminate a ton of enemy infantries. The only way to beat the level was to squish enemies. Anyone know this game? :o It has graphics similar to Metal Fatigue.
Nope..you can save the famous ones out for me, since I know the big ones. Total Annahilation I haven't heard of, just searched now in wikipedia. The cover image has a huge robot. Nope, not this one. Any other suggestions? Cover image has red fire as background.
I know all C&C series, so they're not it. As I said above :p. I'm Korean, so you can say it's not Starcraft, I know it well enough. The most memorable part is that you can squish infantry with vehicles (flame ball thrower vehicle). I'll search KKND and 7th right now...
So far, KKnD is the closest. But from the cover image (doesn't have fire behind background) and some of the screenshots, they don't really click in. I'll look more into this. The Outforce and 7th Legion aren't the ones...Any other? KKnD is so close...it says it has a mutant fireball thrower, which is DEFINITELY one that I remember most about this game.
Certainly isn't Age of Empires...Urban Assault and the Red Odyssey don't match up. This RTS is viewed from the sky, not 3d. Red Odyssey's cover image doesn't match...the one I'm looking for has a lot of red and bits of green for its title I think. Earth 2140 isn't it...I need to try out KKnD, I'll download and see what happens. But I doubt it'll be the one I'm looking for. Any others? Keep in mind the ground unit was a mutant flame thrower (exact name, might be right), and that there was ALSO a squishable vehicle that threw flames (forgot the name for this one). The flames were in spheres, not continuous flames like in starcraft. It was ranged, not melee.
Nope..Dark Colony and Dark Reign don't match up. Different cover images. I just finished downloading KKnD 2. I'll play the first mission and see what it's like...:) Just played a demo version of KKnD 2. This isn't it. Mine has better graphics...the flame throwers (when they attack) seem to throw 2 fire balls, whereas the vehicle throws 3 balls I think...It seems to have great graphics considering it's old, because the graphics were much clearer than the ones in KKnD 2 (the one I just tried).
This might be right or wrong, but at least it's a try. I think the race name was Mutant. Any ideas, or ways to search rts games with race names of 'Mutant'?
Nope...it's rts, one of those typical ones where your view is from the sky. Just 2d, yet with good, clear graphics. Any other games with Flame Tanks / race name: Mutant?

Only thing I can think of is Fallen Haven, I don't remember any tanks running over people but it has been ages since I have played this game. The cover art was different for USA the UK/GER release had fire and a tank on the cover, link below. I remember the game being TBS and not really a RTS.
