I just recently purchased Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines for my PC, but I can't make it run properly. All the opening movies display fine, but when I get to the main screen to start the game, performance drops severely, and the main screen where all your choices are (New Game, Load Game, Options, etc) is all outta whack. The colors are off, it looks like vertical lines all over the screen, the text just looks like a bunch of blocks, and the sound is jumpy and hitchy, like a cd skipping. All my patches are up to date (all official patches), and I know my computer is more than capable of running the game, because I play other games on my PC that have more up-to-date graphics. Here are my system specs:

Raidmax Sirius Case

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz

Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT 512 MB

320 Gb Hard Drive

If anyone has any suggestions about what I need to do to make this game run, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the feedback.

P.S. If anyone could tell me how to overclock, or could direct me to some web resources or anything so I could teach myself how, I would appreciate that as well. Thank you.

i've got the game working fine in vista (32-bit). make sure you patch the game! i've heard that the game was terribly buggy at release. there are several community patches that people have tried; i found a "true" patch on gamespot and that is the one i have used. i've made it past santa monica with no real problems so far (a single crash). patch it up and then give it a try. so far i have really enjoyed the game. good luck!

1. Steam/D2D or retail?
2. What OS?
3. Have you fully patched the game?
4. Are you using any unofficial patches?
5. Are your video card drivers up to date?

It's probably the video card or the drivers... You can try messing around with the clock speeds for the card... maybe it's overheating or the mhz for the memory is too high.... or something. Probably if you upgraded that card to a 8600GT or so.... the problem would go away.

Or...used WinXP via. a dual boot setup?

Will this game run with Windows Vista?????kellytigger2

I have it running on Vista like a charm. maxed out with the unofficial mod and not a sinlge crash or drop in frame rates yet. There was one bug where this dead guy lying on a gurney kept standing up through the table and moaning but that's about it.

Need help...

I was playing this game on XP and it worked just fine, but now when i tried to play it on Windows 7 it suffers the radical FPS downgrade... I dunno what to do because in the beggining the game runs just fine, but outiside and in the big rooms the FPS reduces...:(

Download the official patches. Download the unofficial patches (there are two, choose whichever suits you). Update your video card drivers, VERY IMPORTANT! EDIT: Also if you want you can download Steam, and activate the game putting your cd-key, so that steam auto-updates the game, etc.
