Need help upgrading my gaming PC...

My current PC:

C2D E8400 3Ghz
4GB DDR800
GeForce 8800GT 512MB
250GB SATA3 HDD
Monitor native res 1680*1050

What is the most effetive way to upgrade this PC? Most games runs on med to high settings with smooth frame rate. I wanna play Crysis and the new batman game at high settings. I've been thinking upgrade the graphic card to a 1GB version might help.

If possible, get another 8800GT for SLI. Otherwise, I would wait for the DX11 cards to show up, as your 8800GT is still a very good card and will probably max out Batman.

Seriously though, 4890 will get the job done. On 1680x1050 res Tom's Hardware marked it at 48.2 FPS on High settings, No AA, No AF.

Seriously though, 4890 will get the job done. On 1680x1050 res Tom's Hardware marked it at 48.2 FPS on High settings, No AA, No AF.

Get a Prolimatech Megahalem, Artic Cooling MX-2 Thermal compound, overclock the **** out of that CPU and add a 8800GT or get a new card such has GTX 275/HD4890 or wait for new DX11 5xxx series cards.gigatrainer

Price per performance though the Dark Knight isn't too good of an investment. I guess they have to charge for that glossy black paint. :P

It's not like I was using their opinion on anything. They simply did the frames on the card in discussion. What's the difference between going to a mathematician or a 1st grade teacher on "2+2=?"
