After 4 years my laptop has busted. After around a day of work with a bit of help I have this one build and I would just like to know if there is any way to improve it while still remaining on budget. Gaming is NOT A HIGH PRIORITY. http://pcpartpicker.com/ca/p/laXB CPU AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black 3.4GHz Quad-Core $89.99 CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing $23.44 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 ATX AM3+ $79.99 Memory PNY Optima 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 $27.51 Storage Hitachi 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM $54.95 Video Card XFX Radeon HD 6850 1GB $109.99 Case Antec One ATX Mid Tower $34.99 Power Supply Antec 450W ATX12V $43.99 Optical Drive Asus BC-12B1ST/BLK/B/AS Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer $49.97 Total $514.82 Also are there any recommendations for wireless cards/adapters? Also I won't be entirely disappointed if I lose all the stuff on my laptop, but is there a way to remove the hard drive from my laptop and use it as an external hard drive for the desktop to retrieve the files? Maybe like some hub or something for hard drives. The problem I had with the laptop was that there was a huge noise for the past few weeks on the left side, sounding like it's about to explode. And then the freezing up slowly started happening. And now I had an iastor.sys bluescreen and now it won't start (it has continous short beeps). I am 99.5% that this is not caused by a software issue, but I just want to make sure that this error won't affect my desktop if I do find a way to attach the hard drive to it.
