I'm buying a brand new PC, almost solely for gaming. I mean, I'll use itunes and all that jazz, but not for pictures, or much video, or any of that. I don't want to spend much more than $1000 for a PC at one time. There is one computer I have in mind, and I do plan on upgrading the graphics card in the near future. But I want to run games like Age of Conan, and Warhammer Online when it comes out at high settings, but I want the pc to be pretty upgradeable as the newer and more high tech games come out as well. I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to this kinda thing, I only have some pretty basic knowledge, and I'd much rather buy a PC, and upgrade it over time, and not just build it myself. So how's something like this? http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529667891.php all I want to do right away is put in a GeForce 8800gt, and I'll probably give it more RAM as soon as possible too. But other than that, I was thinking I would leave it as is. (sorry for making a topic that's been done a thousand times, but I wanna be sure about my choice before I just go out and buy it)

It looks pretty decent, though I'll admit I know more about AMD processors than I do about Intel. I'm not sure if you're planning to buy Office and Norton, but if you were you could potentially save some money by downloading Open Office and Avast. Open Office is a free and open source word processor that works much like Microsoft Office. Avast is free antivirus protection, and though I don't think it has quite the virus protection of Norton I have found it to be less invasive. I hope this helps.

Buy it, although, not sure if you could overclock with that motherboard if you wanted to in future.

And you won't need more RAM.

+ you might be able to sell the 8600 on ebay for a few $$.

Hmm, that actually isn't that bad of a base for upgrades, especially with that 700W power supply.
