Hi.

I want to buy a new video card. My motherboard is asus P4P800-E Deluxe, intel socket 478 and has an AGP 8x slot. I want to buy a x1950 pro AGP 8x 512 mb. The problem is my motherboard has a AGP 8X 2.0 but this card requires a AGP 8X 3.0. My power supply is 500 watts so worries in that area but jsut wondering if it does matter or not for the card being installed in an AGP 8X 2.0

AGP slots are backward compatible. That card can even be used in a 4x agp slot. You don't have to worry.

don't worry! I'm right dude. To be an AGP card it is required to BC.

It's all about voltage.

AGP 2.0 runs at .8v and 1.5v while 3.0 runs at .8v

3.0 is the last iteration on AGP that has been made

PCI-E has completely replaced AGP now.
