Thanks for the tips. It makes me a bit wiser. Just some remarks:

1. Too bad Newegg doesn't ship to europe (love the low dollar)
2. I don't think I need so large harddisks. Thinking of 2x 150GB instead.
3. How do dual GPU's work together? How is the performance of those two cards in conjuntion related to 1 super-high performance card?
4. Is a blueray-rom worth investing in? (or blueray writer?)

blueray is good tech but it is waay to expensive to be close to worth having, 2 vido cards in sli will greatly increase performance provided that the drivers are correct and the game is optimized for it, just get a 250-320gb hdd they are cheap or a 500gb hdd also very cheap

Another questian has popped up:

Do I need any other soundcard than the one integrated in the motherboard?

I have yet to come up with any good reason for me to get a sound card, especially considering my hearing is not as it should be.

I believe I am at a final question:

How do I know i the MoBo fits in the case? Are the some standards?

Have I figured out this correctly: if the mobo fits in the case then the cardslots and the openings in the case are at the same places

well yes they if that fits then the mobo fits but an easeier way to tell is there is a standard, the most common type of mobo is the atx motherboard or the micro atx. on the case u are buying it should say what mobos it supports and in the name of the mobo should tell u what ype it is

I belive I have a configuration I am satisfied with. The site is in swedish, but I hope the language won't be that much of a problem.

Mouse and keyboard are very old, from the time before my current rig (it will become a server for me to play with). And for screen I need to measure and get the feel for the sizes. After all I will be looking at it quite much...

Whats your monitor? Also not worth spending such amount of money right now. Nehalem's are coming out in 2-4 months after all.

It is a bit tricky with Nehalem. With that out prices will fall on todays top-end chips. But. The processor in the build does not stand for any major investment, and with that socket there are better processers (but costs 3 times more). So I will chunk out that money rigth now. It has room in my economy.

With that much money, you can do lots of different specs with it. Well right now go with the above sections as newegg does not ship to europe. But i would wait till fall for the e5200 which i heard is only 90$ us, so around what 35 euro? i believe it runs at 2.5ghz, and very esay to overclock. i would also get 2x 4870 crossfire sli for that much money you have.

Damn, that's a lot of money to sink into a computer. I usually recommend against it, as you usually feel like crap when those expensive parts you just bought get out-classed by new components in 6 months. Of course, the performance stays the same weather or not something new comes out, but why not spend a bit less money? For example, you can get two HD 4850's for under 3,000 Soviet Kronas. You could also get a less-potent power supply, such as the Corsair 550VX, as that 850W one is over-kill for the 4850s. As you'd be using two ATi cards, you'd need a different motherboard. The DFI X38-T2R can run two cards, and the chipset is great for overclocking.

Would this perform as well as what you were thinking of getting? No, but it'll still trash Crysis on Very High settings.

Took a look at your suggestions. Cut of 1/6 of the price but I went for two HD4870 istead of two HD4850. But is getting two 4870 worth approx €120 more?

yes the performance is great...only problem I see with getting two 4870's is that each one takes 2 x 6 Pin PCI-E power source. although it comes with the plug to convert molex its still something to consider. I am not exactly sure what the power requirement for the rails for this card is either.

That depends on your monitor's size.
