Anyway, Im new to PC gaming, so Ive never built a computer before. I plan on buying the parts Crytek reccomended:

CPU - Intel Core2Duo E6750
GPU - GeForce 8800GT 512MB
Motherboard - NVIDIA nForce 650i Socket 775
PSU - 600W ATX12V
RAM - 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit
HDD - SATA 250GB 7200RPM
DVD - 20x DVD±R Burner
Case - ATX Midi Tower Computer Case
OS - Microsoft Windows XP Home with SP2

So, do I need to worry about anything other than putting the parts in their spot? Do I need to install heatsinks or anything like that? Also, Can any of you reccomend a moniter, keyboard, mouse, and speakers to go with it? I know its asking a LOT (especially from a noob), but this is going to be my first venture to PC gaming, and I dont want to get off on the wrong foot, so please help. Thanks in advance.

It would be really helpful if you could list the parts you are planning to buy, because personally I'm not finding anything when I Google Crysis PC. Theseguides by Corsair are really good step by step guides for beginners with lotso pictures. As for monitors/keyboards/mice the Samsung Syncmaster line has very good monitors for gaming, the Logitech G15 is considered one of the best gaming keyboards, and the Razer Death Adder, Logitech MX518, Logitech G5 & G9 mice are very high quality gaming mice.

How does that matter if hes using the same components in XP as Vista.

Anyways to the OP, how much you want to spend, cause some people are giving you ridiculous things to put in your PC. I see you want to spend around $250 for a GPU, but some people are giving you $450 GPUs. Or CPUs that cost $50 more.

I would get a E8400 @ 3.0Ghz and a P35 or X38 board. For a PSU, look at CoolerMaster PurePowerPro or the Corsair lineup.

well i dint see anywhere that he only had 250 to spend so i just listed the best of the best

and the Q6600 can easily be OC to 3GHz and more but he said he was a noob so i dont think he would be OCing and then the Q66600 would be good for games and multitasking
