Need help with Steam! (Please help! >_

Ok, so I got MW2 today YIPEE!... or not... I go to install it and find I have to go through this steam bs. I installed it but when I try to open it, all i get is "Updating Steam Platform" it keeps going through that, it starts, finishes, it starts again...

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!???:evil:
