Need help with THE SIMS 3..

Okay, so I am ordering The Sims 3 online. And I need to know something..

Q: Do you need the very first or any other Sims game to download The Sims 3?

-I remember for expansion packs back in the day you need the Sims 1 to be able to download any other game. Is it still the same or can you just

buy the Sims 3 and download it and it work.?

Sims 3 isn't an expansion it is a stand alone game. So yes you can buy it, download it and it will run fine you do not need any of the previous sims titles to run Sims 3.

Yes both sites are download services, on the EAstore it will give you the opportunity to select digital delivery (ie download to your PC). Once you have purchased the game you download the EA downloader log in with your newly created account and download the game at your leisure.

I have never used Direct2Drive but I believe the process is similar, you buy the game, get hold of the D2D download program, log in and download the game.
