I plugged all cables respectivelly, F to front R to rear and C to center, when i do my soundcard detects when i plug and it seems okay but when i test the sound no sound is coming from front and rear. does anybody knows why ?

Do i need to install some drivers or something ?

my card is the onboard 7.1 card that was with my motherboard (Motherboard is MSI P45 NEO-F)

thx in advance

I have these headphones and use them with my motherboard's onboard sound, but they aren't connected directly. I use a headphone amp because when directly connected to the motherboard, I can hear static that follows my mouse movements. Odd little problem I almost always have with onboard sound. Anyway, don't rely on any "auto-sensing" abilities that the drivers/software/motherboard are supposedely capable of. I turn those types of settings off and manually specify what each jack that can switch functions should be. A lot of onboard sound solutions now have connectors that switch between being an input and output, but you should be able to pick a setting and make it stick.

Try this:

Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Speaker Settings > Advanced > Select 5.1 Surround Sound.

wow it worked for 5sec... then it stopped...

thx for the advice, but i dont undestand why it worked and then stopped.

i did the speaker test once it worked except that my right sound was like 50% lower than my left sound, and then i tried a 2nd time and rear speakers were not working anymore...thats very weird

oh and also the sound was weird, like the rear right was coming from both side and the subwoofer only from left...

I actually have the Zalman branded headphone amp intended for use with this headset. See here. As for other suggestions, I can only say that you may have to check the software/control panel for your sound card. There may be specific software installed for the onboard sound that lets you change settings the standard Windows sound control panel doesn't show. If you do find that and it doesn't seem to be working as expected no matter what you try, I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the sound drivers and software. Make sure to get the latest version from your motherboard manufacturer's website. If that doesn't help, you may be left with trying to get your motherboard replaced or picking up a dedicated internal or USB sound card.
