DVI and HDMI are both digital. They are the SAME quality image. HDMI carries audio and has HDCP. DVI does not.

Yes, you're getting 1080p from the DVI-HDMI cable.

You're not getting any audio at all from that cable. DVI does not carry audio.

The HDMI-DVI-D Will only work if either my GPU or Monitor Supports HDMI Inputs right, But if DVI Does not carry audio then how will i hear, when that is the only cable connecting my pc and my Monitor.

Speakers would probably be a good idea.

I didn't notice that monitor only has DVI, I thought it had an HDMI input.

You can just use a DVI cable from the card to the monitor. Your card supports HDCP right? I'm assuming you want to watch blu-rays on your computer.

You plug your speakers into the sound card as usual for sound.

You should be fine with the DVI cable.

Dual link is used for very high resolutions. (2560 x 1600 and higher)

hd is anything above 1280 x 720. dvi can support 1920 x 1200 which is way over the standard for hd. dvi and hdmi are basically identical.

So through the DVI-D Cable im Getting High Definition Picture But not High Definition Audio.

jakeonator
they are both the same but few companies support the sound in dvi. hdmi is basically a smaller dvi, there is no picture quality difference.
