The glue didn't work out? Don't know what the best are in that price range, but I've been happy with my Razer Kraken Pro heatset, which can now be had for ~$60 USD. People will probably try to tell you Razer is complete crap, but judging a headset solely off the brand is not the greatest strategy. I recently bought a pair of Audio-Technica headphones. I expected them to be pretty good, given the brand name. However, despite costing double the current price of Kraken Pros, they're significantly worse. I'm certainly no Razer advocate and I'm not saying the Kraken Pros are the best in that price range (they're most likely not), just throwing a (relatively) cheap recommendation out there.

ATH-WS55X Maybe it's not fair to say they're bad, but they're certainly not what I was expecting. There were no reviews out when I bought them. However for some reason, I wanted to try another pair of headphones, so I took the gamble and went in blind with these. I know there are a lot of well reviewed headphones out there, but I was having trouble finding something I liked the look of and something I wouldn't hesitate wearing outside the house. The sound isn't quite as rich as my Kraken Pro and as headphones which are marketed as "Solid Bass", the bass really isn't very good. Earcups are also smaller than I thought they would be, and don't quite fit over my ears. For $130, I was definitely expecting more.

Can't say i'm familiar with that model, but it looks like they're going after the beats crowd for style over substance. You could always try a portable amp and see if that helps.

The Plantronics Gamecom 780sĀ are pretty good for the price IMO. I might be a bit biased because I have them, but there are tons of positive reviews out there. They are comfortable, good sound, and have a good mic. My only complaint would be that the velvet on the headband and ear cups attract dust.
