I'm looking for a new gaming rig. I have £800 to spend on it, below is what I have come up with- totalling nearly £800. I want to be able to play new games at full spec with unnoticable lag. Samsung 1TB HardDrive Plantronics 377 Headset Asus GTX 660 Graphics Card i5 Processor LG 21.5 inch Monitor SanDisk 64GB SSD 8 gb RAM ripJaws NZXT Phantom Orange- black case

You threw in the monitor and peripherals, so harder to squeeze into 800 pounds.

Spend more or expect a little less. It looks fine, you can tone down the settings or just roll with it until you have enough money for a better gpu months-year later. Selling your parts can help you upgrade sooner.

660 isn't great, but it seems okay.

Motherboard included in the price?

Its a pretty good card overall (the version he got is a tad faster than the 7870 and he can squeeze another 5-10% easily on the Direct Cu 2 cooler). Thats pretty good for a single 6 pin card that often retails at $180 USD (he'll have more than enough power for 1080p)

I'd go for a 7870 personally; slightly faster at stock, more overclocking headroom, more memory bandwidth. There's isn't a huge amount in it though.

Stock vs stock there isn't much difference (3-7% depending on the charts all while running hotter/using an extra 6 pin connector). I would only change it to the 7870 if he can somehow get the XT/LE edition (aka the 7930). Its nearly idential to the 7950 (non boost edition) and it overclocks like a champ (15-25%)

As i've posted in amny theads today (sorry guys :P):

In a couple of days the GTX 760 is released and according to a leak it essentially matches the GTX 670 in performance for the cost of a 660 (well probably slightly more but less than a 660ti anyway).
