as you might have heard, the game has an incredibly large community which is growing steadily. so you don't have to worried about that.

the thing you really wanna think over is whether this is your cup of tea. as always, my advice is to try the 10 day trial first BEFORE you buy the game.

Yes you will be called a noob and yes most people will be *lvl 70. But still, it worth playing.
Starting new never hurts, i've switched servers 3 times.

ok because I'm also considering buying vangaurd, ... or I should say I would like to buy Vanguard but am considering buying wow the only thing I've played that is close to a MMORPG (but isn't) is Guild wars ... I want something more indepth. I really enjoy some of the ideas that vanguard has but I know the game has many issues, WoW on the ohter hand is very proven but it's always fun starting from the beginning ... so i'm struggling with what to buy Also if I buy Vanguard I will have to spend 100 bux for another gig of ram

There are countless new people every day, and people startin new alts, so there is no shortage of low level people to do stuff with, believe me.And Vangaurd sucks so i would avoid that.

no. there is a warhammer online game coming out that will be vastly better than the somewhat menial and click-ish world of warcraft.

all i can say about WoW is that if you dont open your mouth and some like an idiot, do some research into the classes and the relm your going to use. and learn to use www.thottbot.com (they have a firefox plugin so it is more convient for me) you will never be called a n00b. on my first char a rogue, a class that is overpopulated by the way. practically every person in wow has either a rogue, lock or both. they're a great vent for frustrations when you are mad at players from the other faction. speeking of pvp, if you decide to play alliance for christ sake stay out of stranglethorn vale as much as you can. on my server and ill bet a good number of servers the horde likes to corpse camp nestingway's camp site. I never played an MMO before I played WoW, b ut if you invest some time into the game not just playing but really studying the classes, knowing oyur own limits and finding some ppl that either you like or know in Rl then it can be one of the best games you will ever play

There is no downside to starting the game.  There are always new players, and there are always people who make "alts" and, like everyone else, they must start at level 1.

The game is also easy to pick up, and from what people say its pretty easy to level quickly in the game [relative to other MMOs].
